250 mg of Red rice (Oriza sativa) fermented with Monascus purpureus yeast with min 4% of monacolin-K; 100 mg of Milk thistle (Silybum marianum) seed dry extract with min. 80% of silymarin, 40:1; 100 mg of Japanese pagoda tree (Sophorae japonica L) flower dry extract with min. 98% of quercetin, 15:1; 10 mg αTE* of vitamin E (as d-alpha tocopheryl acetate).

Red rice is traditionally used in Chinese cuisine, as well as in Chinese medicine. Its ingredient, monacolin-K, contributes to maintenance of normal blood cholesterol level, by inhibiting the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, a key enzyme in the synthesis of cholesterol. Silymarin, the active ingredient of Milk thistle, has a known beneficial effect on liver condition, the main organ in the metabolism of cholesterol. It stimulates the production of gluthatione, perhaps the most important antioxidant in our body.
One of the many roles glutathione has in the body is participating in the regeneration of liver cells. Quercetin belongs to a group of polyphenolic substances known as flavonoids. It has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect. The positive effect particularly shows on the blood vessels’ level, protecting them from the harmful effects of free radicals and increasing their resilience.
Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin that contributes to protection of cells from oxidative stress.
